Six captains. Six partners. One Invitational.
Six captains. Six partners. Three of Queenstown's finest courses. One cup.
Each captain invites one partner and together they form a team. Twelve men compete across three days — Jacks Point, Millbrook, and a final Ambrose at a course that humbles all. The side with the lowest aggregate score across all three days lifts the Battlers Invitational Cup. And the man who plays the best individual stableford across the first two rounds earns the Green Jacket.
The Invitational opens along the shore of Lake Wakatipu, beneath the Remarkables. Each player posts their individual stableford score, and the team score is the combined total of both partners. The lowest combined score wins Day One. Mind the view — it has cost many a man a dropped point.
Millbrook rests in the Arrow Basin beneath Coronet Peak. The same format as Day One: each player's individual stableford score counts, and the team score is the combined total. The Green Jacket contenders will know where they stand by the time they reach the 18th. Most give back a shot or two to the view.
The Invitational closes at a course that makes no promises. Both players hit, the best ball is selected, and both play from that position until the hole is finished. The lowest team score wins the day's Ambrose title. The final opportunity to climb the overall leaderboard — or fall from grace entirely.
Post each round's scores, follow the team standings and individual Green Jacket race across all three days.
There are two parallel competitions. The team trophy runs across all three days — combined stableford scores from Jacks Point and Millbrook, plus the Ambrose score from Day Three. Lowest aggregate wins. The Green Jacket is a separate individual honour, determined by each player's personal stableford total across Days One and Two only. The Ambrose is team-only and does not affect individual standings. Lowest team aggregate wins the Cup; highest individual stableford wins the Jacket.
